Foundation Course in Spinning
The Association has established a Foundation Certificate course in Spinning which is intended to enable those who are new to spinning and others who wish to get a better understanding of this craft to work towards a recognised standard.

Certificate of Achievement (CoA)
The CoA offers you the opportunity to follow a comprehensive syllabus in Spinning, Weaving, Tapestry Weaving, Natural Dyeing or Synthetic Dyeing. You can plan your studies to fit in with your other commitments and registration lasts for 5 years, (60 calendar months) from the date of registration. For the assessment you will submit a portfolio of samples and a project piece of your own design. For more information you can download the syllabus or syllabuses in which you are interested, together with the CoA Handbook, from the GIH. The CoA was developed in order to preserve and improve craftsmanship in our crafts and is open to any member of a Guild affiliated to the Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers.
Certificate in Advanced Textile Studies (CATS)
This certificate has been designed for those whose work has reached a standard of excellence and would normally follow the successful completion of the AGWSD Certificate of Achievement, or a comparable qualification. Further information can be found here.
