Wigtownshire guild

We are a friendly group of crafters who enjoy getting together to learn new skills and share expertise – and to have fun doing it. We welcome new members and visitors to Guild meetings whatever their level of skill and experience, and beginners are especially welcome. We have an extensive library of books, magazines, and equipment for loan to members.

Our main monthly meeting in Glenluce often includes a workshop or teach-in. We have a more informal meeting in Wigtown on the third Monday of the month, 10a.m. to 1p.m. where we work on our own projects in a sociable atmosphere. Refreshments are available at both meetings. For more information please contact our Secretary using the email given here.

The objectives of the Wigtownshire Guild are the preservation and improvement of craftsmanship in handweaving, spinning and dyeing for the benefit of the public. To this end, the group aims to encourage excellence of craftsmanship within the Guild; to foster an appreciation of the beauty of texture, colour and design; to provide opportunities for increasing knowledge through courses, demonstrations, exhibitions and the provision of a library; and to encourage exchange of ideas and opinions with other groups and within the group.
