All the details about your Guild that appear on this website are held on a database. Your Guild secretary can update the details by logging into their admin area and entering the Guild username and password.\u00a0 It would help greatly if you could email the Association Secretary if your Guild has changed contact details so we can ensure the information is correct on the website, and any details published in The Journal.<\/p>\n

If you have a new secretary, contact the previous one and ask for the log in details. If for any reason s\/he is not available, contact the Association secretary who will send new details.<\/p>\n

To find your nearest Guild, please see The Guilds page where there is a full list, plus a map. You can also search for specific Guilds by selecting “Guild Search”. Most Guilds welcome visitors so you can go along to a meeting to find out more. The AGWSD is the\u00a0Association\u00a0<\/strong>of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers<\/em>. The Association doesn’t have individual members. Guilds join the Association and as a result their members benefit from the services AGWSD provide.<\/p>\n

Each member Guild has its own structure and membership fee. You can find a list and a searchable map of Guilds on our The Guilds page.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t <\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t <\/div>\n\t\t\t \t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

If the Guild needs a copy of the umbrella Public Liability Insurance certificate, you can download the certificate from the GIH. Remember that it will only be valid if your Guild has paid it’s annual subscription.<\/p>\n

The Association helps by providing you with access to a large and growing set of resources based on the needs and experience of over 100 member guilds. See the\u00a0About page<\/a>\u00a0on this website. This ranges from the documentation you will need to get started (things like a constitution) to a dedicated simple to update web-page.<\/p>\n

After the 2018 AGM it was decided that the minimum number of members needed to set up a new guild to be affiliated is now just 3. Please contact the Association Secretary for any help in setting up a new Affiliated Guild.<\/p>\n

The Association also acts as a central resource such that an individual craftsperson can find a local guild to work with.<\/p>\n

I’m sorry, the Association does not hold the type of records you need. We were founded in 1955 with the aim of helping bring together the community of craft Weavers, Spinners and Dyers. We have over 100 member Guilds all over the UK and overseas.<\/p>\n

You could try contacting some of the Guilds in the area you are interested in – please see The Guilds pages on this website for details of all Guilds.<\/p>\n

The Association Archive is housed in York Public\u00a0 Archive, York Explore Library Learning Centre, Museum Street, York. YO1 7DS and is available to view by appointment. Please contact their Archivist for help.<\/p>\n
