Your Journal will be with you, wherever you are!<\/p><p><strong>What hardware and software do I need?<\/strong><\/p><p>You can access the digital Journal:<\/p><ul><li>Online using a desktop computer (including laptops) with a current\u00a0Mac\/Windows\/Chromebook operating system and web browser<\/li><li>Online on a mobile device (tablet or smartphone) with Safari\/Chrome\u00a0browsers (iOS) or Chrome\/built-in browsers (Android)\u00a0offline as a PDF file, downloaded from the FlippingBook publication page.\u00a0Most systems will have a method of viewing PDFs pre-installed but if not, all systems have access to free PDF viewing software.<\/li><\/ul><p>N.B<em>\u00a0Kindle Fire tablets have restrictions on opening encrypted PDFs and so the default PDF viewer will not open the Journal \u2013 a third-party viewer capable of viewing encrypted files will be required. We recommend &#8220;qPDF Viewer&#8221; which is available from the Amazon Appstore. At the time of writing it costs \u00a30.64 to purchase this app.<\/em><\/p><p><strong>Can I try a digital Journal before I buy?<\/strong><\/p><p>You can access a free \u2018try-before-you-buy\u2019 issue to see whether it works for you on your device, and to get an idea of what the digital Journal format looks like. The PDF that you can download of this free issue has been watermarked \u2013 the PDF of paid-for issues is not. The password to open this sample PDF is jWSD955.<\/p><p><strong>How do I increase the page size?<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>On a desktop computer \u2013 to zoom in on the page, double-click the page to open the page in \u2018single page\u2019 view. At the bottom a zoom slider appears where you can adjust the zoom level. Double click the page again to\u00a0go back to \u2018double page\u2019 view. Alternatively, click the icon to bring up the zoom level slider.<\/li><li>On a mobile device \u2013 double tap the page to zoom in and again to zoom out. Alternatively use \u2018pinch and zoom\u2019 to zoom in and out.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Can I access the Journal when I am offline?<\/strong><\/p><p>Yes, once you have first downloaded it from the FlippingBook publication page \u2013 the PDF can then be viewed offline.<\/p><p><strong>How do I download the Journal as a PDF for offline viewing?<\/strong><\/p><p>First log-in to view the FlippingBook publication in your web browser. Once logged in:<\/p><ul><li>On desktop computers \u2013 click on the icon at the bottom of the screen and then click the link to download the PDF file.<\/li><li>On mobile devices \u2013 click on the icon in the top left of the screen and then in the sidebar that opens up the PDF is at the top \u2013 click to download.<\/li><\/ul><p>Once the PDF is downloaded to your system open it in your PDF viewing software. Before you can view the file you will need to enter the password \u2013 this is to protect the file from being shared to those who have not paid to access it.<\/p><p><strong>Can I print articles?<\/strong><\/p><p>You can\u2019t print the articles from FlippingBook however if you download the PDF you can print pages from that.<\/p><p><strong>Can I access the digital Journal from multiple devices?<\/strong><\/p><p>Yes, you can use your email login and password from each device you want to use.<\/p><p><strong>When is the digital Journal published?<\/strong><\/p><p>We aim to publish it at the same time as the print version, so if you have a combined subscription you should get both versions at roughly the same time, give or take a day or two.<\/p><p><strong>How quickly do I get access once I subscribe to buy an issue?<\/strong><\/p><p>We aim to ensure you have access as quickly as possible, preferably within 1\u20132 working days. It\u2019s not instant because there is a significant manual element to the processing of orders and the Journal is run by volunteers. If you are purchasing, or subscribing to, a forthcoming issue then you will not have access until the publication date.<\/p><p><strong>How do I access the digital Journal once purchased?<\/strong><\/p><p>Once your initial order is processed you will receive an email from FlippingBook Cloud (noreply@cld.bz) with your unique username and password for accessing FlippingBooks of the Journal. That will be followed by an email from flippingbook@henryling.co.uk with an invite to view your purchased issue(s). For subsequent issues you will receive emails from flippingbook@henryling.co.uk advising you that a new issue is available to view. To ensure there are no delays in you receiving this information we suggest that after you subscribe you add the following email addresses to the safe sender\/whitelist feature of your email software (check the instructions for your software); noreply@cld.bz, flippingbook@henryling.co.uk and noreply@flippingbook.com.<\/p><p>When you receive an invitation email to view a Journal online, click the cover image to open the publication. If you are copying and pasting your email address\/password into the box please ensure no spaces are included before or after, just the email address\/password.<\/p><p>Is the email address I submit when I purchase a digital Journal subscription (or individual copy) important?<br \/>Yes, your unique password will only work with this email address.<\/p><p><strong>What if I forget, or wish to change my password?<\/strong><\/p><p>If you forget your password you can click the \u2018Forgot Password?\u2019 link on http:\/\/cld.bz\/. Enter your email address and a new password will be emailed to you at that address.<\/p><p>You can choose to change your password to something of your choosing by logging in to http:\/\/cld.bz\/ and then clicking on the Account link at the top of the page. Enter your new password twice and save the changes as prompted.<\/p><p><strong>What happens if I change my email address?<\/strong><\/p><p>You need to contact us at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:info@wsd.org.uk\">info@wsd.org.uk<\/a>\u00a0telling us both your old and new email addresses so that we can ensure that any issues you subscribed to via your old address will be made accessible via your new one. You will receive a new password. Before you use it, you will need to log-out of your old credentials in order to log-in with your new credentials \u2013 see the next question \u2018How do I log-out of FlippingBook?\u2019. If you have difficulty logging on with your new email and password, clear the browser\u2019s cache and try again.<\/p><p><strong>How do I log-out of FlippingBook?<\/strong><\/p><p>If you are logged in to FlippingBook as one user and need to log in as a different user (for example, if you have changed your email address or are subscribing after saving the sample issue credentials) then go to http:\/\/cld.bz\/. This will take you to the \u2018dashboard\u2019 for the user you are logged in as. Click on the username in the top right hand corner to get a log-out option. Next time you visit any FlippingBook pages you will be required to log-in; use your new email address and\/or password to do so.<\/p><p><strong>To which issues can I get access?<\/strong><\/p><p>All issues of the Journal will be published in FlippingBook format from now on, alongside the print version. You can subscribe at any time. We started digitising the Journal with issue J251, so individual back issues from that issue onward are also available to purchase.<\/p><p><strong>How much does the digital Journal cost?<\/strong><\/p><p>The price of the electronic Journal is the same as the UK print version. For overseas customers, the electronic version works out significantly less expensive than the print version because we do not have to add overseas postage costs.<\/p><p><strong>Can I purchase it from anywhere in the world?<\/strong><\/p><p>The digital Journal can be purchased from within the UK and anywhere worldwide that is outside the European Union. Due to 2015 EU Digital Content VAT rules we are currently in the regrettable position where we cannot sell digital Journals to customers within the EU \u2013 other than UK.<\/p><p><strong>What if I want both digital and print versions?<\/strong><\/p><p>We offer a combined subscription that includes both electronic and print versions at a very attractive combined price. UK Guild Bulk subscribers have access to special rates through their local guild.<\/p><p><strong>Is the digital Journal only available on subscription or can I buy single digital issues?<\/strong><\/p><p>We can supply individual digital issues from issue J251 onward. We have no plans to digitalise earlier back issues, we do not have the necessary copyright permissions. For best value, we recommend taking out a subscription.<\/p><p><strong>Is the content the same as the print version?<\/strong><\/p><p>Yes. However, the digital Journal also includes features, such as live web links and searchable text, which are not possible in the print version. Please be aware that in older issues, some URLs may not work if, for example, the destination page is no longer online.<\/p><p><strong>Will the copyright be the same as for the print version of the Journal?<\/strong><\/p><p>Yes, it is exactly the same Journal with the same copyrights.<\/p><p><strong>What happens when my subscription ends?<\/strong><\/p><p>You can continue to access the issues of the digital Journal that you have purchased previously, however you will not be invited to access any new issues.<\/p><p><strong>What happens if I restart my subscription?<\/strong><\/p><p>You will be able to access both the issues that you purchased previously and the new issues from the restart of your subscription. If your email address has changed in the meantime, you need to let us know here: subs@thejournalforwsd.org.uk.<\/p><p>If there was a gap in your subscription then any issues that were published during that gap will not be accessible to you.
